Outside of work I enjoy swimming, cycling and unning, preferably in that order and all in one session! I compete in local triathlons and am particularly fond of my carbon bike. I have a rescued German Shepherd Dog, Sheba, with an obsession for tennis balls and an unusual fear of cats.

I am currently in my final year of my Veterinary Nursing Qualification at Cannington College. I live in Taunton with my retired racing Greyhound "Blue" (who everyone loves more than me!) and my hamster "Professor H". Both of my pets are rescued, as I have a habit of taking home waifs and strays! I'm looking forward to qualifying and hope to eventually do some work overseas.
Jackie Evans - Nursing Assistant
I have worked in veterinary practice for almost 15 years – the last 5 of which have been at Blake Vets. I own a Boxer dog named Roxy – who is a typical Boxer (as mad as a box of frogs!). I also have a Maine Coon cat, two moggies and a Flemish giant rabbit. I am married with 2 children. I am currently studying at Cannington College to gain the qualification of Veterinary Care Assistant. Eventually I would like to go on to study Veterinary Nursing. Having spent so long working in this area it would be wonderful to eventually get the qualification. I love my job and still feel privileged (even after all these years) to be able to help and care for sick and injured animals.

When not at work she enjoys travelling, National Hunt racing, gardening and needlework.
