Pet insurance
Is pet insurance important and should I insure my pet?
For pet insurance matters we recommend you read the British Veterinary Association information sheet on pet insurance, which is available from their website here.
Insuring a pet will prevent unexpected bills should they become ill or injured. You should ideally choose a policy that covers them for life. Many insurance companies will only cover a condition for a year and then exclude the condition. With on-going complaints e.g. skin complaints and arthritis this can prove costly. Pet insurance also gives you third-party liability cover. For example, if a pet caused a road traffic accident, you are legally responsible for damage caused to the driver and the vehicle.
We are a registered agent for Pet Plan insurance (www.petplan.co.uk) and our staff will be willing to give you further information on their policies.
