Clinical services & tests

Our large range of up-to-date diagnostic and surgical apparatus allows us to make rapid decisions and ensure a speedy recovery for your pet.

Some of the services we offer include:

Keyhole surgery (laparoscopy)

We can offer the latest in keyhole techniques for spaying dogs. Using top of the range specialist equipment, this procedure has significant benefits over conventional open surgery. For more information see our Keyhole Surgery page.

Dental services

We can prevent gum disease and infection by removing scale or remove tartar from your pets’ teeth. We can also remove rotten teeth and trim the teeth of small furries (e.g. rabbits, guinea pigs etc) when the teeth have grown too long.

Digital X-ray

Our modern X-ray facilities help us to find out what is wrong with your pet. Digital x-ray allows images to be copied to your pet’s records and emailed to a specialist veterinary surgeon or referral centre if necessary.

Endoscopy

Our endoscopy equipment allows us to look into the body with minimal invasion. It is a flexible tube with a small camera attached to the end which can, for example, be used to look down the windpipe into the lungs or down the oesophagus into the stomach.

Glaucoma testing

We are able to check whether the eye pressure of your pet is within the normal range, using a special pen. We can then identify and treat glaucoma, which could lead to permanent blindness, promptly.

Hip and elbow scoring

It is recommended that certain breeds of dog (such as labrador retrievers) have their elbows and hips tested before being breed from. This is to prevent hereditary conditions such as hip dysplasia being passed on to the next generation.

Surgery

We carry out routine and emergency procedures in our modern, sterile operating theatres.

Ultrasound scanning

We can help diagnose certain illnesses and to diagnose pregnancy with our ultrasound equipment.
